Wanted by DepEd: More responsible digital citizens

THE Department of Education (DepEd) has integrated a program into the K to12 curriculum that focuses on the responsibilities that come with being online.

In integrating the digital citizenship and responsibility program into the curriculum, Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) modules will be developed for inclusion in the values formation subject. This way, all students nationwide will benefit from the lessons on digital citizenship and learn about the responsibilities of being wired to the World Wide Web.

DICT earmarks P1.2 billion for free Wi-Fi hot spots

The government is spending another P1.2 billion in 2020 to put up new Wi-Fi hot spots that will provide Filipinos free internet connectivity, Makati City Rep. Luis Campos Jr. said yesterday.

Campos said the funding is part of the proposed P5.2 billion budget for the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
